I started making my own beats a few years ago and I haven't looked back since. You don't need all that much to get started making your own beats, just music production software and a computer. You used to have to go to the studio to make your own beats.

This brings me to your first option: home desktop beat making software. Programs like FL Studio, Reason, Cubase, and CoolEditPro are popular desktop programs. These programs are great for people who have a little bit of music experience and understand audio because the controls and features can get highly technical. If you know what you're doing, then they are the best way the maximize the user experience and get the absolute most out of your music- you get absolute pinpoint control over every tone, pitch, note, you name it.
